Fundraising Team Management Committee Staff Ofsted
The New Montessori Pre-School is non-profit organisation providing Montessori education for pre-school children in the Worthing area. We are a registered charity (number 1086853), and you are welcome to view our Charity Commission register entry Charity Commission register entry . We are also a registered company (number 3908382); details available from Companies House .
Our fundraising team is vital because it provides extra income, allowing us to buy specialised Montessori equipment for the classroom as well as other play equipment for the children. Made up of parents from the school the team does a tremendous job, organising all sorts of events where parents and children can enjoy themselves while raising money for us. Nonetheless they always welcome fresh ideas so if you can help please ask at the school.
The fundraising team also publish our occasional magazine Monti's News which aims to keep parents in touch with what's happening at the school, and contains articles of general interest on the Montessori method written by the school staff. If you have a business or service that you would like to advertise in Monti's News please contact us via our contacts page.
The school is a limited company run by a Management Committee comprising a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and additional members. The Management Committee are (with the exception of the Treasurer) the Trustees of the charity and Directors of the company. All are non-remunerated volunteers drawn mainly from the ranks of parents of children at the school. We are always looking for additional members so if you think you may be able to help please contact us.
The current committee members are:
The day-to-day running of the school is carried out by the Principal and the School Manager, both of whom hold Montessori Diplomas. Responsible to them are our three Classroom Managers, and their teams of dedicated teaching assistants who direct the children through the Early Years curriculum firmly based on Montessori principles. For educational sessions we maintain a staff:child ratio of 1:6, and for the lunch club 1:5. This conforms to Ofsted and government requirements.

The pre-school is registered with Ofsted and regularly inspected to ensure that we provide a high standard of care and meet the government's early learning goals.
We had a combined education and care inspection in September 2006 in our new premises at Tarring Road and are proud to report that we maintained our overall "good" rating. You can either view the report online direct from Ofsted's web site or download a copy for printing in PDF format.
